Van Hage chooses K3 solution

Van Hage, a UK garden and leisure retailer, has selected K3, the UK’s largest provider of Microsoft Dynamics, to supply and implement a 21-lane POS solution and back office system to manage its newest superstore in Peterborough.

Van Hage have already has two successful stores near London which are run on K3’s POS and back office solutions. The new store will be the anchor of a brand new retail park, and visitors will be able to enjoy an innovative shopping experience, with a product range including plants, gardening, clothing, gifts, homewares, and a restaurant.

Chris Luther, IT Department, said, “We were one of K3’s first retail customers back in 2000. We’ve always had a great relationship, and they are a much trusted partner. They’ll be helping us to make a smooth transition into the new store. We’ll rely on the system to help us run the store effectively and efficiently.”

The Peterborough store will open in February 2010, and K3 is currently preparing the POS and back office installation. The project includes POS, stock control and procurement. K3 is also managing an upgrade on software, tills and back offices as part of a general enhancement programme in the other two stores.

K3 is also providing Van Hage with a PCI:DSS compliant Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) solution across its three stores. The solution will simplify Van Hage’s communication infrastructure, and with more PCI compliance changes in the pipeline, Van Hage can rely on K3 to manage the whole process, saving the company cost and worry of managing PCI compliance.

Luther continued, “The EFT PCI project is business critical, as it’s vital that we are compliant with the legislation. K3 is managing the whole procedure for us, and I know that we’re in safe hands. K3 has always worked hard for us, and provides us with expert advice and support.”

John Little, Sales Director, K3, said, “K3’s relationship with Van Hage has gone from strength to strength over the years, and we’re delighted that such a loyal customer is managing to grow its business in such a tough climate. It’s proof that having the best IT systems in place contributes strongly to growth.”

The project has already started, and K3 will be managing the PCI compliance through September and October, and will be finished by mid-November.

Training at the new store will commence in January 2010.
