SharePoint Consultant
K3, The Retail People, are currently looking for an experienced SharePoint Consultant, to join their team based in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will work with both internal and external customers to provide expertise in implementing solutions based on the new Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 platform and the new Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 suite of products. Day to day tasks will include:
- Scoping and implementing SharePoint based projects for clients
- Developing custom solutions within MS SharePoint
- Assisting with pre-sales demos, presentations and proposal writing
- Analysis / requirements gathering
- Technical design
- Designing and implementing InfoPath forms
- Training and ongoing support
- Office 2007 servers
The successful applicant will be an individual with a broad range of skills and expertise. A strong understanding of MS technologies coupled with broader vendor experience is extremely desirable. In addition this is a technical hands-on deployment role and so the candidate needs to possess a deep technical knowledge.
The successful candidate will have experience of consulting and implementing any or all of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0/3.0
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, or
- Microsoft Content Management Server 2002.
All candidates should possess a strong understanding of the majority of the following:
- MS Windows 2003 Server and other server Operating Systems
- Microsoft desktop Operating Systems
- MS Virtual Server\ Virtual PC, VMWare or other virtualisation technologies
- Microsoft Office System (preferably including Office 12)
- SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services and collaborative technologies
- SQL Server 2000/2005
- Understanding of Microsoft & other vendors strategic roadmaps
- Microsoft .NET or other mainstream development and Web Publishing
- Web Development Architectures
Candidates would also benefit from experience and skills in any of the following technologies:
- Content Management Systems, e.g. Microsoft CMS
- Agile Development methodologies
- Enterprise Architecture
- Microsoft and other vendors' collaboration technologies
- MS Live Communications Server
- MS Live Meeting
Personal qualities should include:
- Excellent technical aptitude
- Client facing, demonstrating excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand customer requirements and deliver applicable solutions
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a team environment
- Self motivated and driven to achieve professional success in a consulting environment
- Ability to manage workload and time according to deadlines set
Ideally you will also have obtained Microsoft Certified Professional status to MCSE/MCSD/MCAD/MCDBA level, or be able to supply evidence of having gained commensurate experience with Microsoft Technologies.
